Welcome to the Monticello Housing Authority (MHA) website. We are dedicated to providing safe, decent, and affordable housing for low-income families, seniors, and individuals in the Village of Monticello and Sullivan County, New York.
The Monticello Housing Authority administers the following programs to help residents secure affordable housing.
The MHA owns and manages low-income housing units in the Village of Monticello. Rent for these units is set at an affordable rate based on your income.
Eligibility: Determined by your income, family size, and U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status as set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
How to Apply: Contact our office directly for a public housing application.
This program provides rental assistance to help low-income families, seniors, and people with disabilities afford housing in the private market. With a Housing Choice Voucher, you can choose a suitable home, and the MHA will pay a portion of the rent directly to the landlord.
Eligibility: Based on your household income and family composition, as determined by HUD guidelines.
How to Apply: You must submit a pre-application. Due to high demand, a waiting list is common.
